Reserving Actuary, London Market

Location: London (2-3 days in the office)

Salary: Up to £110,000 + bonus

Are you a qualified actuary with 5 or more years working in general insurance? Do you have significant experience of London market reserving? And are you wanting more responsibility in your role?

This is a great opportunity for someone that wants autonomy in their role whilst still being able to consistently collaborate with the wider teams and work closely with them (e.g. IT) to further the overall success of the company. You'll be joining a business with a great reputation in the market in a newly created role which will add depth to their London Market reserving team. You'll also have the opportunity to manage a small team without losing your 'hands-on' responsibilities.



Some of the key responsibilities:

• Improve the end-to-end reserving process to provide more and better insights for the business
• Play a key part in the overall strategy of the business and take the lead on an important transformation project
• Manage a variety of stakeholders to allow the project to run smoothly and 
• Collaborate with other areas of the business to ensure the process is a success and aligned to the company's strategic objectives
• Manage a small team of analysts

 

What you will need for this role:

• Be a qualified actuary, ideally with some post-qualified experience.
• Ideally 4 or more years of reserving experience - preference would be for this to be within the London Market
• Good software and programming skills - e.g. SQL
• In-depth understanding of the general insurance market, particularly the end-to-end reserving process
• The ability to lead on key projects and manage different stakeholders
